The Story

Inspired by the effortless glide of a manta ray, this piece captures a moment that usually belongs to the ocean, fluid, weightless, and continuous.

But here, that motion is translated into something mechanical. A system of gears, linkages, and balance, working together to recreate the same graceful rhythm.

It’s a contrast between nature and engineering, softness expressed through structure, movement shaped by precision.

The Object

Designed as a kinetic sculpture, The Manta comes to life through motion.

A discreet lever at the back activates an internal gear system, setting the wings into a smooth, rhythmic movement. As it moves, the piece shifts from a static object to something almost alive.

Whether displayed on a desk or shelf, it invites interaction, not just observation.
